SOPs for entertainment outlets, night clubs, bars being fine tuned

KUALA LUMPUR: The government is not prepared to announce the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the operation of entertainment outlets, night clubs and bars.

Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin said the SOPs for the sector was in the midst of being fine tuned.

"Entertainment outlets might be difficult to manage, so we have to be careful in formulating the SOPs," she said after opening the Pei You Community Library and Fire Prevention Campaign at Kampung Baru Salak Selatan today.

On an entertainment outlet at Jalan PJU 7/3 Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, which flouted the RMCO, Zuraida said action could be taken by the local authorty.

She said in the event the premises were operating illegally, then compund could be imposed on its operator and patrons.

It was reported that 310 people were slapped with RM1,000 compound each after they were caught partying at a club in Jalan PJU 7/3 Mutiara Damansara here early this morning.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said police rounded up 310 partygoers including 110 women and 10 foreign workers for flouting Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) during the raid.
