KUALA LUMPUR: 38 out of 58 areas, or 66 per cent affected with the recent water disruption have begun receiving water supply since 6am, today.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) corporate communication Elina Baseri said water supply in the Gombak region has resumed 100 per cent, while 57 per cent of areas in Kuala Lumpur have received their water supply.
"A total of 20 areas in the Kuala Lumpur region have not fully recovered.
"The areas that have yet to resume water supply are Bukit Bandaraya, Bukit Bangsar, Bukit Bintang, Hampshire Park, Imbi, Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, Jalan Travers, Kampung Datuk Keramat, Kampung Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur City Centre 1 and 2, Parlimen, Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin, Pudu, Taman Bandaraya, Taman Bangsar, Taman Bangsar Baru, Taman Lucky, Tasik Perdana and Tijani.
"The duration of the disruption and the water supply recovery of the affected areas differ according to the distance of consumers' premises and the water pressure at the distribution system.
"We hope that consumers who have received their water supply will use water prudently, to allow recovery process in the other affected areas to run smoothly as scheduled," she said in a statement, today.
The valve replacement works at the raw water pipeline from the Klang Gates Dam caused a water supply disruption to affected consumers in Kuala Lumpur and Gombak.
The works caused a temporary shut down of the Bukit Nanas and Wangsa Maju Water Treatment Plants on April 6.
"We will continue to update the status of the water supply recovery in the affected areas from time to time through all of our official communication channels," Elina said.
