Azril Mohd Amin appointed Masa chief executive officer

KUALA LUMPUR: Azril Mohd Amin, a former special officer to former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, has been appointed Institut Masa Depan Malaysia (Masa) chief executive officer, effective yesterday.

The institute in a statement today congratulated Azril on his appointment, saying he has more than 18 years of experience as a legal practitioner and non-governmental organisation leader.

Azril has vast professional experience in leading research efforts locally and abroad.

"He had served under the portfolio of research and public policy during his tenure as special officer to the eighth prime minister.

"He had overseen policies and programme implementation at ministerial level, especially in the fields of social and Islamic affairs," said the statement."

It also said Azril was responsible for advising the then prime minister on various matters, including keynote addresses and speeches.

Masa said it hoped Azril's appointment would help to raise the standard of the think tank based on the values of common prosperity.
