MySejahtera glitch: Booster vaccine appointments sent to underage

KUALA LUMPUR: A technical error was detected in MySejahtera where teenagers under 18-years-old had apparently received booster shot vaccination appointments recently.

Individuals who already received their booster shots were also alleged to have received appointments as well.

As per the Health Ministry's advisory, booster shots are only for adults aged 18-years-old and above, and there are no additional booster shots, also purportedly known as the fourth dose at the moment.

The Health Ministry issued a statement today for those who already received their booster shots, and also parents of children who have received booster shot appointments, to ignore the MySejahtera notification.

"Those who have accepted the appointments for the booster shots of your dependents or individuals for another booster shot, may cancel it and are not required to appear at the vaccination centres.

"MySejahtera technical team is rectifying the issue and apologises for any difficulties arising from the problem," it said today.

A total 68,546,897 vaccine doses have been administered nationwide, as part of the government's effort to cripple the Covid-19 outbreak.

A total 66 per cent of adults have received their booster shots, 91.5 per cent teenagers have completed their vaccinations, and 35.8 per cent of children aged five to 11 have received their first dose of the vaccine.
