KOTA BARU: The Jewels Hotel here today continued to tradition of distributing bubur lambuk (rice porridge) packets to motorists.
The hotel manager Muhammad Azrin Zainal Abidin said 500 bubur lambuk packets were disbursed a to motorists within one-hour of the programme being launched.
"We have organised this programme every year since 2017 and as usual, we have prepared about 500 packs for passing motorists.
"About 10 staff were involved in the programme which began at 4pm," he said.
Like last year, Azrin said they held the programme according to the Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
"All staff members were told to obey the SOP strictly by wearing face masks and maintain physical distancing when distributing the porridge to motorists." he added.
He said the hotel's bubur lambuk was different from others as they added budu, a tangy sauce made from fermented anchovies and spices into its recipe.
"We added some chicken and vegetables," he added.
