KUALA LUMPUR: No criminal element was found in the death of the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) student, who was found dead in his residential college room.
Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner A.A. Anbalagan said the cause of death was still pending.
"A post-mortem has been done, there's no criminal elements (behind the death), but the cause of death is still pending ... we will wait for the chemist reports," he told reporters briefly today.
Yesterday, a final year Master's student of the university's Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication was found dead in his residential college room. He was 29 and was living alone.
Police said the victim was last seen two days prior to the discovery of his body.
The victim's body was discovered by a witness who had not seen the victim for some time. The witness detected a foul smell coming from the victim's room which led to the discovery of the body.
