KUALA LUMPUR: The government's nationwide Jualan Murah Keluarga Malaysia programme (PJMKM) which sells essential goods and food supplies at a cheaper price will be held in Kanowit, Sarawak tomorrow.
The programme, which has received extraordinary response from the public since it was first launched by Prime Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri last month, offers essential items, including chicken, sugar, flour and canned food at prices of up to 20 per cent lower compared to the usual price.
The programme is held at selected district markets and participating hypermarkets, where the public can buy their essentials at a more reasonable price.
It is the brainchild of "Pasukan Khas Jihad Tangani Inflasi" where five ministries are involved in organising subsidised or cheaper product sales for the public.
For instance, chicken sold at normal morning markets would cost RM9.40 per kg but under this programme, the price is only RM 8.90 per kg.
The programme in Kanowit tomorrow will be held at Nam Leong Kanowit from 9.30am to 5pm, and is open to everyone.
PJMKM targets to carry out the programme at 639 state seats throughout the country for 18 weeks until the end of this year.
So far among the states which have organised the programme are Selangor, Kedah, Perlis and Sabah, among others.
