PKR rubbishes claims of connection to detained duo in kidnap case

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR has rubbished claims that a husband and wife, detained by police over a Mossad  operation in Malaysia, were members of the party.

PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil confirmed the matter through a Facebook post today.

"I can confirm that both individuals were neither PKR members nor did they have any affiliation to the party.

"As for the pictures of the individuals hoisting the PKR flag or posting the party logo as their Facebook profile pictures around 2018, these are the actions and choices made by the individuals and has nothing to do with the party.

"PKR wishes to congratulate and thank the police for their quick action to nab the suspects and free the Palestinians who were believed to be abducted on Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad's orders.

On Tuesday, the New Straits Times exposed how an operation by Mossad to abduct two Palestinians unfolded at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng on Sept 28.

The expose revealed that a group of Malaysians, including a women, had acted as Israeli operatives to abduct two Palestinians, said to be linked to Hamas and based here.

However, one of the victims escaped and lodged a police report, leading the police to bust the operation and rescue the other victim.

The NST also revealed that more Palestinians in Malaysia are said to be Mossad targets.
