Immigration Dept: Renew passports outside of Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR: The Immigration Department today has told the public to renew their passports at its offices outside of the Klang Valley and other less crowded outlets.

This comes after the closure of its offices in Selangor due to a state public holiday today, which also coincides with the start of the school holidays.

The department's director-general Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud, in a statement, said the Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya offices have also been receiving a high volume of visitors with passport related issues today.

"The department advises that people head to less crowded offices outside the Klang Valley for passport applications."

He also advised people to postpone their passport applications if they have no urgent need or emergency to travel overseas, and to conduct such applications outside of the peak period.

Khairul said the public should not to wait until the last minute for passport renewals.

"The public is also invited to join the official Telegram channel for passport application matters at the link https://t.me/PejabatPasport."
