KUALA LUMPUR: People should change their mindset about littering, said Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
In a tweet, Tunku Ismail said he hoped society will respect the state and environment and change the mindset of throwing trash everywhere.
"Action has been taken. From what I observe following every clean-up, littering continues to happen everywhere. Please change the #mindset," Tunku Ismail said.
He said this in response to a tweet from a visitor to the Tanjung Balau beach who complained about the littering at the beach which he said had ruined his vacation at the beach.
Earlier, adly@Separa_Penuh had tweeted, "My #cuticutimalaysia experience is destroyed with all the sampah sarap yang dibuang merata tempat kat #tanjungbalau, we ought to do something, this is just too much and too painful to watch. Segala maknenek sampah ada di sini. Am truly sad." (My #cuticutimalaysia experience is destroyed with all the trash thrown all over the place in #tanjungbalau, we ought to do something, this is just too much and too painful to watch. Every kind of trash was there. Am truly sad.)
He had tagged his tweet to Tunku Ismail and Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said (@AzalinaOthmanS), who is the Pengerang member of Parliament.
Accompanying Tunku Ismail's tweet was several pictures featuring several men, presumably Pengerang Municipal Council personnel, cleaning up the trash at the Tanjung Balau beach.
