Tony Pua's attack on unity govt uncalled for, says Anthony Loke

KUALA LUMPUR: DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has criticised senior party member Tony Pua for his unwarranted attack on the unity government.

"Tony Pua no longer holds any position in DAP.

"Thus, he spoke in an individual capacity and in no way represented the party leadership," said Loke in a statement shared on his Facebook page.

He said the former Damansara MP's speech at a Petaling Jaya DAP event was provocative in nature and was not in line with the party's current stance and direction.

He said DAP's top leadership made the policy decision to cooperate with other political alliances in achieving political stability.

"I wish to remind all DAP leaders and members to protect the harmonious relation between the party and coalitions in the unity government for the much needed political stability in a time when the country is facing various external challenges.

"Anyone in DAP unable to watch their mouth in this is not welcome to speak on DAP's stage," Loke added.

Pua yesterday said it was vital for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is Pakatan Harapan chairman, to hold the government together.

He took a swipe at PH's allies within the unity government,

Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN), calling them "corrupt".
