PM orders apology from individual over disrespectful tweet on Hadi

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on an individual to apologise for his insensitive remarks regarding the deteriorating health of Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, who is currently receiving treatment in a hospital.

The Prime Minister expressed his disappointment over the actions of the individual, believed to be a supporter of his party, in a tweet on his Twitter account.

"I strongly condemn and am deeply upset by the disrespectful remarks made by Zaki Yamani, and I order him to apologise immediately," he stated.

Twitter user @Zaki_Yamani_ had written a tweet in which he expressed hope for the Pas president's life to end following reports of Hadi's deteriorating health.

The individual also made similar comments about former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Yesterday, it was reported that Abdul Hadi's health was deteriorating, and he is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.

This message was conveyed by his son, Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi, through a post on his Facebook page.
