ALOR STAR: Kedah Perikatan Nasional government has decided to adopt the logo and theme for this year's National Day celebration approved by the federal government.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said there was no point in adopting an alternative logo and theme since the celebration was being held at the national level.
"We have decided to take the same stand made by Terengganu to adopt the same logo and theme (as decided by the federal government).
"Since the celebration is being held at the national level, the state has decided to just follow.
"There is no point in bickering about it," he said at a press conference after chairing the first meeting of the state executive council formed after the Aug 12 state election.
Sanusi, however, stressed that the decision did not mean that the state government had acknowledged the unity government's Madani concept.
"What is important is what is past. It (agreeing to the logo and theme) does not mean we are supporting Pakatan Harapan," he said.
Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar reportedly said recently that the state will adopt the same logo and theme announced by the federal government for the National Day.
