IPOH: Former Ipoh mayor, Datuk Zamri Man, has died aged 56.
It is understood that Zamri, who was also a former Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) president, breathed his last at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.
His death was shared via the official MPM Facebook page in a condolence message.
Zamri was Ipoh mayor from July 2015 and was supposed to have ended his stint on July 2019.
However, in April 2019, media reports said Zamri had "disappeared", claiming that he had a mysterious ailment and had not been able to perform his duties for several months.
That month, the Public Service Department was reported to have said that Zamri's service as mayor was shortened to the previous February due to health factors, adding that he had been receiving medical treatment.
