World's largest tiger photography exhibition roars into Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR: The "Eye on the Tiger" exhibition, which is the largest event showcasing photographs of the endangered species is set to make its Malaysian debut in Starhill and Lot 10 beginning tomorrow (Sept 21).

This exhibition, which recently created waves for its successful run at London's Royal Albert Hall is sure to be a visual extravaganza that sheds light on the plight of the world's largest and most majestic cat species.

Organised by the United Kingdom-based conservation association, Save Wild Tigers, the exhibition features 60 astonishing works of the world's 30 leading wildlife photographers.

The works of two Malaysian photographers will be exhibited in conjunction with "Eye on the Tiger's" arrival to the land of the Malayan tiger.

"With approximately 5,000 tigers remaining in the wild globally and fewer than 100 Malayan tigers left in their natural habitat, the clock is ticking to prevent the extinction of these magnificent creatures," said the organiser.

The photo exhibition until Oct 22 will allow Malaysians to participate in the tiger's conservation efforts, while witnessing the beauty and grandeur of these cats through the visuals.

Visitors will be able purchase prints of the exhibited photographs, with all profits going to Save Wild Tigers and their Malaysian conservation partners, The Habitat Foundation and RIMAU.
