KUALA LUMPUR: The Conference of Rulers expressed their appreciation to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, for shouldering the responsibility as the Head of State with integrity, wisdom, and excellence.
Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, remarked that this recognition is due to the various challenges faced by Al-Sultan Abdullah during his tenure as the Head of State, all of which were successfully resolved.
He mentioned that several highly challenging issues occurred during Al-Sultan Abdullah's reign, including the global Covid-19 pandemic and political turmoil that led to the appointment of four Prime Ministers.
However, all these issues were successfully addressed, thanks to the wisdom of Al-Sultan Abdullah in engaging with political leaders and the Rulers.
Sultan Ibrahim emphasised that Al-Sultan Abdullah's success was not only in resolving political crises but also in caring for the people.
The inaugural Kembara Kenali Borneo expedition served to strengthen the bond between the monarch and the people and increase the people's loyalty to the King and the country.
In conclusion, Sultan Ibrahim prayed to Allah SWT to bestow lasting happiness, blessings, and grace upon Al-Sultan Abdullah and his family.
He delivered these remarks during the 262nd Meeting of the Conference of Rulers, which took place over two days, following the last meeting on February 22 and 23, which was chaired by Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Among those attending the meeting were Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah; Sultan ofTerengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin; Sultan of Kedah, Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah; and the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.
Pahang was represented by the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah; Perlis by the Regent of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail; and Kelantan by the Crown Prince of Kelantan, Tengku Dr Muhammad Faiz Petra.
The meeting was also attended by the Governors of Penang, Melaka, Sabah, and Sarawak, as well as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
