KUALA LUMPUR: Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) has introduced the 'OKU Smile' subscription pass that enables persons with disabilities using its rail and bus services to enjoy its free fare incentive for starting Feb 1.
It said the benefit can be enjoyed by all existing Prasarana OKU concession card holders and new applicants.
"The introduction of this initiative is a follow-up to the announcement by Transport Minister Anthony Loke on Dec 21 about a free fare incentive for the disabled community for all rail and bus services operated by Prasarana," it said in a statement today.
Prasarana said activation and new applications for the OKU Smile pass are open from tomorrow.
Prasarana said Prasarana disabled concession card holders can activate the OKU Smile pass at any Rapid KL LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT, and selected bus hub counters.
Users must ensure they have a minimum balance of RM5 to use the pass.
"For cardholders whose cards have expired, they need to apply for a new card.
"This can be done at the selected concession registration counter for Rapid KL, at Pasar Seni hub, or Conlay MRT station."
In Penang, new applications can be made at Rapid Penang Headquarters, Weld Quay Bus Terminal, Komtar, Bukit Jambul, Balik Pulau, Bukit Mertajam, Dato Kailan Kepala Batas Complex, and Penang Sentral, it said.
In Pahang, applications can be submitted at Rapid Kuantan, which is at the Hentian Bandar Terminal, read the statement.
