KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty, Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia has awarded brand new cars to Istana Negara officers of various ranks in recognition of their outstanding contributions and services.
According to a statement posted on His Majesty's official Facebook page, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar also bestowed various assistance to those in need.
"His Majesty has long granted cars to state government officers, district officers, medical doctors and nurses.
"For example, in 2010, His Majesty graciously granted 11 cars and eight large motorcycles to the Royal Malaysia Police Force (PDRM).
"In 2018, His Majesty granted a Proton Suprima to all district officers in Johor," the statement wrote.
The statement added that His Majesty had also granted 10 Perodua Myvis to nurses serving at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Baru in September 2020 to express appreciation to the medical team.
In 2021, His Majesty granted three Proton X70 cars to three doctors working in the medical team at the Johor Palace.
Last year, the king granted 10,000 packages of free rice weighing 10 kilogrammes each to assist the poor and low-income groups in Johor.
In the same post, several photos were uploaded showing His Majesty presenting a Proton X90 car to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
In addition, a car was also awarded to Datuk Paduka Maharaja Lela of the National Palace, Datuk Azuan Effendy Zairakithnaini and Istana Negara religious officer Datuk Munir Md Salleh.
Also receiving car gifts from His Majesty were former Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Major-General Datuk Indera Zahari Mohd Ariffin and Colonel (r) Datuk Nazim Mohd Alim.
The gifts from His Majesty were presented by current Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Datuk Zailani Hashim as a recognition for the outstanding contributions and services of all recipients.
