KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain today expressed his condolences to the family of former IGP, the late Tun Mohammed Hanif Omar, who passed away earlier this morning.
A Facebook posting on the official Royal Malaysia Police account conveyed Razaruddin's wishes on behalf of the entire police force.
"Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, together with Deputy IGP Datuk Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay and all members of the Royal Malaysia Police express condolences to the family of former IGP, the late Tun Mohammed Hanif Omar, who passed away due to kidney disease.
"The late Tun Mohammed Hanif was the 4th IGP and held the position for 20 years from 1974 before retiring officially on Jan 16, 1994," the post read.
Tun Mohammed Hanif who was 85, passed away at his residence in Shah Alam, Selangor early this morning.
The funeral, it added, will later be held at the Bukit Kiara Muslim cemetery, Selangor.
"May God bless the soul of the late Tun Mohammed Hanif and he placed among the believers and righteous.
"Al-Fatihah," the post ended.
