Health minister open to investigation into claims of money packets for Kuala Kubu Baharu voters

PUTRAJAYA: Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said he is ready to be investigated regarding allegations of cash-filled packets with his image on them being distributed to voters in Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB).

According to a report in a Malay daily, Dr Dzulkefly said the distribution of the packets was made before the nomination day for the by-election.

"Let them investigate if they want to. They will discover the truth, and that's perfectly fine," he said after the Medical Device Authority's Excellent Service Awards ceremony today.

Dzulkefly said providing financial assistance, including distributing money packets, is his customary practice when visiting hospital ward staff and patients.

"My actions are in no way related to the election campaign in KKB at the moment," he added.

Previously, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal alleged that Dzulkefly was giving out money packets to voters in KKB and urged the Election Commission to investigate the matter.
