KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, expresses his condolences to the families of the two policemen killed in the attack on Ulu Tiram police station this morning.

In a message on Facebook, Sultan Ibrahim also expressed sadness over the deaths of Constable Ahmad Azza Fahmi Azhar and Constable Muhamad Syafiq Ahmad Said.

"Al-Fatihah for the two national heroes who died in this tragedy. May they be placed among the faithful and also the martyrs," said His Majesty.

A masked, parang-wielding intruder stormed the Ulu Tiram police station in Johor early this morning, and killed two policemen and injured another before being shot dead. The suspect is believed to have managed to seize two firearms.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the suspect was believed to have links to terror group Jemaah Islamiyah (JI).

He said five members of the suspect's family have been arrested and JI material was found at the suspect's home.
