28-year-old bodybuilder dies day after competing in event

KUCHING: Sarawakian bodybuilder Suharwardi Dahlan died early Monday morning due to heart complications, a day after competing in an event.

He was 28.

His passing came after he helped the Miri team dominate the 58th Sarawak Bodybuilding Championship in Sibu.

Suharwardi, who was also a police corporal, was confirmed dead due to heart complications.

A source said that he was found unconscious at his residence in Pujut Tanjung Batu, Miri, at 3 am. He was then rushed to Miri Hospital for emergency treatment but was confirmed dead.

The Miri Bodybuilding Association stated in a post on Facebook that they have lost an athlete with a bright future in bodybuilding.

Suharwardi had once represented Miri in the Mr. Sarawak 2024 competition.
