Sg Bakap polls: Abidin speaks in Hokkien to voters

NIBONG TEBAL: Abidin Ismail, the Perikatan Nasional's candidate for the Sungai Bakap by-election, has put his language skill to good use.

In a short video uploaded on his Facebook page, Abang Abidin Ismail, as he is fondly known, showed his skill in speaking Hokkien, a local Chinese dialect.

He introduced himself before reminding voters to come out and vote for him in the July 6 by-election.

He ended it by thanking the voters.

Abidin is engaged in a straight fight with Pakatan Harapan's Dr Joohari Abidin for the Sungai Bakap state seat.

In the same video also, Abidin also assured that PN would contest the by-election in a healthy manner.

"InsyaAllah, we will not resort to any provocation against our opponent.

"We also hope the same from them," he said.

Abidin said if he managed to retain the Sungai Bakap state seat, he would work for the people.

"Whatever the problems faced by the people, I will do my best to help them solve them," he said.
