JELI: A teenager sustained serious injuries after crashing his motorcycle into a police patrol car on Km10 of Jalan Jeli-Dabong last night.
District police chief Superintendent Saari Yaacob confirmed that authorities received a report about the incident at 9.20pm.
He said that the patrol car was travelling from Kuala Balah to Jeli when the crash occurred.
"Initial investigations revealed that the patrol car swerved to avoid a dog crossing the road. However, the motorcyclist, who was closely following the car, failed to stop in time and collided with the right side of the vehicle," he added.
Saari said the collision caused the motorcyclist to suffer severe head and body injuries, and he was quickly rushed to Jeli Hospital for treatment.
The case is currently under investigation under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
