Melaka KJH event more attractive, visitor-friendly - State govt

AYER KEROH: The Melaka government has welcomed the idea of the Media Prima Berhad "Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH) Mana Lagi? Melaka Lerr" event being organised in the state again.

More than 300,000 visitors attended the carnival over its three-day duration.

Organised by Media Prima Berhad (MPB), the three-day carnival which started  on June 28 was officially closed by state Tourism, Heritage, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman.

Razak said the state government was very pleased with this year's event, which was more systematic, attractive, and visitor-friendly.

"I am very satisfied with every activity organised at all the booths, which could be enjoyed by visitors of all ages, especially those who came with family members.

"It was a great success when more than 300,000 visitors attending. This shows that the promotion and marketing strategy by MPB was very effective.

"We welcome the idea of KJH being organised again in this state with the same tagline 'KJH Mana Lagi? Melaka Lerr,'" he said.

During the closing event on Sunday, there were six stage performances by popular artists, including Rahmad Mega, Hael Husaini, Shiha Zikir, Ruffedge, Ara Johari, and Baby Shima.

Also present during the closing were the MPB group managing director Rafiq Razali; Media Prima Omnia chief operating officer Datuk Mohd Efendi Omar, The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad group managing editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman; Media Prima Audio chief executive officer Nazri Noran and Media Prima TV Networks deputy editor-in-chief of Azhari Muhidin.

KJH was held in conjunction with Visit Melaka Year 2024 and the 40th anniversary celebration of TV3.

Mohd Efendi said MPB is ready to support the Melaka government's efforts to promote the tourism sector, especially during the ongoing Visit Melaka Year 2024 campaign.

He said MPB hopes that the ongoing collaboration with the state government will continue to popularise Melaka as a preferred tourism and investment destination in the region.

"In this KJH, more than 120 local and international brands were specially brought to Melaka to further liven up the carnival.

"Hopefully next year the strategic cooperation between the state government and MPB in organising this KJH will continue, following the extraordinary response from visitors to this carnival," he said.
