KUALA NERUS: The 512th Territorial Army Regiment (Askar Wataniah) aims to recruit 150 new volunteers at Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH).
512th Territorial Army Regiment commander Lieutenant-Colonel Ismadi Zakaria said by yesterday afternoon, 75 individuals had registered as volunteers with the regiment.
He said based on the good response so far, he was confident the target would be met.
He said KJH was the fourth stop in the regiment's recruitment drive for volunteers aged 18 to 45.
"In Terengganu, we will have seven stops. To be chosen as volunteers, those who have registered will need to visit our camp with their documents," he said at the regiment's booth at KJH today.
Ismadi said the weapons, army food and military uniforms featured at the booth had attracted many visitors.
The Terengganu-leg of Karnival Jom Heboh is being held at the Terengganu State Sports Complex in Gong Badak. The three-day carnival ends today.
