JOHOR BARU: Preparations for the 2024 Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH) at Field B, Angsana Johor Baru Mall, which is set to begin tomorrow, is progressing smoothly despite the gloomy weather today.
Checks found that most participants are actively setting up displays across 160 booths, featuring a variety of popular food, property, and services available throughout the three-day event.
Among the participants are Yaya Empire, Puspakom, Red Bull, FGV, Affin Bank, and Baba's, with special promotions such as RM10 bags and free Baba's products.
KJH 2024 project lead Eileen Lim said Johor is a must-visit location for KJH every year.
KJH is targeting 300,000 visitors this year.
Lim added that this year's KJH in Johor also marks the first location for auditions for the reality singing show One in a Million (OIAM), which last aired on TV3 in 2009.
"Johor has been selected as the first location for auditions in search of new stars. Join the OIAM auditions here at Field B, Angsana Johor Bahru Mall, on Nov 2 and 3 (tomorrow and the day after).
"The face-to-face auditions will continue in five locations across Malaysia, including Sabah, Penang, Pahang, and Kuala Lumpur," she said when met at the KJH 2024 tent at Field B, Angsana Johor Baru Mall, earlier today.
Lim said Baba's return as the main sponsor for the fourth time, brings even more excitement to KJH.
She added that with recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) as the 'Longest-Running Outdoor Event', KJH has become a phenomenon among Malaysians, consistently offering fun and engaging activities for families each year.
"During the three-day gathering in Johor Baru, this carnival will offer various exciting activities that promise memorable moments for city residents.
"Visitors have the chance to win attractive prizes at booths such as Studio Tonton Drama Sangat (TV3, TV9, Tonton), Studio Jom Heboh, New Straits Times Press (including New Straits Times, Berita Harian, and Harian Metro), Hot FM, and Vocket.
"Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet and interact with their favourite celebrities at the Studio Tonton Drama Sangat (STDS) booth, featuring popular stars from Tonton, TV3, and TV9 programmes.
"Among the personalities lighting up the KJH Baba's in Johor Baru this year are Aniq Durar, Ashraf Muslim, Kodi Rasheed, Shah Iskandar, Nabila Razali, Wanns Ahmad, Nafiz Muaz, and many others," she added.
Lim said a variety of trending viral foods from social media will be featured at KJH 2024 through the Love Food Fest.
This includes Lamb Shank by Chef Ammar, Bakso Beranak by Vicha, Cikidot, and many more.
"Additionally, NSTP will host 'Pet Zootopia', featuring 30 types of animals, and the Vocket '2vs2' Street Football Championship.
"Participants have the chance to win up to RM500 in cash, along with a special edition jersey from Vocket. Visit https://bolajalanan.thevocket.com/ or scan the QR code to register," she said.
