63-year old woman killed in head-on collision in Gua Musang

GUA MUSANG: A 63-year-old woman was killed while two others were seriously injured in a collision between two cars here yesterday (July 14).

Gua Musang police chief, Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said the incident happened at Km 60 Jalan Gua Musang-Lojing.

He said the woman suffered serious injuries on the head and body and died while receiving treatment at the Gua Musang hospital.

The other two injured were the woman's husband who was driving the car and the driver of the other car.

"Initial police investigations showed that the woman's husband, aged 75, who was travelling from Gua Musang to Lojing, lost control of his car when passing a bend, causing his car to skid to the opposite lane and colliding with the oncoming car driven by a 44-year-old man.

"The 3.40pm incident caused the three of them to suffer serious injuries," he said in a statement.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of Road Transport Act 1987.
