KOTA TINGGI: A married couple was killed in a head-on collision with a dumper truck along Jalan Tun Sri Lanang here, early this morning.
The victims identified as Md Raus Kamaludin, 40, and Noorain Tohit, 33, were headed towards Sungai Renggit from Kota Tinggi when they allegedly crashed into the truck, whose driver was attempting to turn right onto a slip road in the opposite direction, at 6.10am.
District police chief Superintendent Yusof Othman said both victims were severely injured in the crash and died at the scene.
The truck driver, who escaped unharmed, tested negative for drugs.
Yusof said the driver is being investigated under the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless driving.
