ALOR SETAR: A 13-year-old girl who was reported missing after leaving her family's home in Bukit Kayu Hitam last Thursday was found safe at the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) Arau Station in Perlis yesterday.
The girl's father, Muhammad Suhairi Ghazali, 45, said he rushed to the station to pick up Dhania Maisara as soon as he was informed that his daughter had been found at around 7:30pm.
He said that villagers found Dhania Maisara with a female friend when they got off the train at the station.
"The villagers detained them and then informed me about it.
"When I arrived at the KTM Arau Station, I found my daughter safe and brought them to the Arau District Police Headquarters (IPD) to report the discovery," he said when contacted today.
However, Muhammad Suhairi mentioned that so far, Dhania Maisara is not yet ready to talk about what happened during the time she was reported missing.
"So far, Dhania hasn't said anything... maybe she is still traumatised," he said.
Muhammad Suhairi said he had previously posted on social media about Dhania Maisara's disappearance to seek help in locating her.
He also said that Dhania Maisara was believed to have gone out to eat with a friend named Intan, 16, whom she had only met about a month ago.
"On the day of the incident, I received a WhatsApp message from someone claiming to be Intan's mother, saying she took Dhania out to eat together.
"However, upon investigation through the WhatsApp message, it was found that it was actually sent by Intan herself," he said.
He added that earlier, using the 'Find My iPhone' app, his daughter was detected to be in Johor Baru early this morning before she was finally found at KTM Arau.
