Teenager who went missing due to body shaming returns home

SUNGAI PETANI: A 14-year-old girl who was reported missing after leaving her family home in Taman Cempaka, Bukit Selambau, here since July 2, has returned home today.

This was confirmed by Kuala Muda District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail when contacted today.

"The teenager has returned home at 4 pm earlier," he said.

Earlier it was reported that the teenage girl, who is still schooling ran away from home since July 2 due to body shaming by her school friends.

The teenager is believed to have gone missing after leaving her family home in Bukit Selambau, here around 12 noon on July 2, riding in a car with an unknown friend not known to her family members.

Subsequently, police confirmed receiving a report regarding the disappearance from her father, after his only child did not return home for two days.
