KUALA LUMPUR: Two maids had allegedly admitted two unknown men into their employer's home while the employer and his wife were upstairs.
Dr Shazril Shaharuddin took to Instagram to share troubling footage showing his two maids allowing the strangers into the residence at 9.25pm on July 29.
The incident was brought to his attention by a concerned neighbour.
In the video, Dr Shazril detailed how, with police assistance, he discovered the men in the maids' quarters with his baby sleeping between their beds.
He expressed deep concern over his child's safety, questioning what could have happened if the baby had cried and provoked a violent reaction from the intruders.
"I'm extremely worried about my baby who was sleeping between them. What if my baby had cried and triggered a violent response? The potential danger was very real," he said.
He recounted returning home at 9.20pm and reviewing CCTV footage that revealed the maids' actions.
He observed that one of the maids had covered the CCTV camera with a bottle and redirected it.
"At 8.36pm, one of the maids covered the CCTV camera with a bottle and turned it away," he added.
Police arrived at the residence around 11.20pm and conducted a raid, finding the men shirtless and lounging on the bed.
Following the incident, Dr Shazril decided to terminate the employment of one of the maids and return her to the agency.
He also issued a public warning to exercise caution when hiring domestic staff, emphasising the need for vigilance to prevent similar breaches.
One of the maids admitted this was the first time they had brought strangers into the home, which Dr Shazril found fortunate as it prevented the situation from becoming a recurring issue.
