Kuala Nerus: The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad Pet Zootopia booth at the Karnival Jom Heboh has already received nearly 1,000 visitors since it opened yesterday.
NSTP Business Development and Special Projects Manager, Tengku Kaifi Mirza Tuan Cherit said based on the response received so far, he is confident that the number of visitors will certainly increase.
"We target up to 2,000 visitors over the three-day KJH event," he said.
"The concept we are introducing is learning while interacting with the animals that are on display here.
"Our staff will provide explanations about the behaviours and characteristics of each type of animal we have at the event," he said.
"In addition, visitors not only have the opportunity to interact with various exotic animals brought in from abroad, but also gain knowledge about their behaviours and characteristics.
"Here, visitors only need to pay an entrance fee of RM20 per family compared to the zoos that charge per individual," he said.
Visitor, Zakira Abu Bakar, 52, from Kampung Raja, Besut, said she was happy that she got a chance to see and interact with various animals at the carnival.
"For me, this price is indeed cheap and worthwhile, and I came here specifically to see the animals on display.
"Entering zoos out there costs a lot more. Besides that, you also have the chance to participate in an online lucky draw," said Zakira, who also brought along 15 co-workers with her to the carnival.
