KUALA NERUS: The New Straits Times Press (NSTP) Pet Zootopia booth at the Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH) is drawing crowds, with visitor numbers nearing its 15,000 target.
The popular event is being held at the Terengganu State Sports Complex in Gong Badak.
NSTP Business Development and Special Projects Manager Tengku Kaifi Mirza Tuan Cherit said the booth had welcomed 7,600 visitors since it opened on Thursday, including those from neighbouring states Kelantan and Pahang.
"On the first day, the NSTP booth saw 1,500 visitors, and this number jumped to 6,100 yesterday," he said. "We're expecting about 8,000 more today, the final day of KJH."
The booth's hands-on approach, allowing visitors to interact with the animals while learning about them, has been a major draw, Tengku Kaifi said.
"The RM20 family fee includes photos with over 26 tame animals, plus other goodies like NSTP newspapers and drinks," he added.
"The entrance fee at RM20 for a family includes photos with over 26 tame animals and other prizes, including three copies of NSTP newspapers and soft drinks," he added.
Pasir Mas resident Muhammad Nor Faiz, 27, said the booth was a hit with his three children, especially the tame Burmese pythons.
"The RM20 fee is reasonable, especially considering the professional photos we got," he said.
