KUALA LUMPUR: The government has reduced the retail price of diesel by 5 sen to RM3.30 from RM3.35 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of RON97 remained at RM3.47 per litre, RON95 at RM2.05 per litre, and diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan at RM2.15 per litre for the period of Aug 8 to Aug 14.
The Finance Ministry said the reduction of the diesel price is due to the recent decline in the global crude oil prices.
"The revision to the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia to RM3.30 per litre is in line with the current moderating trend in the global crude oil market prices," it said in a statement today.
"Government will continue to monitor market developments and adjust the diesel fuel's retail price based on global oil market fluctuations, whilst supporting price stability."
