KUALA LUMPUR: It was a close shave for 20 people when the brake of the bus they were traveling on malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to crash into a road divider at KM2.6 of Jalan Genting Highlands in Bentong, Pahang yesterday.
Bentong district police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the bus, driven by a 38-year-old man, was heading to Kuala Lumpur from Genting Highlands in the 1.40pm accident.
"It is believed that the brake of the bus malfunctioned causing the vehicle to crash into the road divider located on the right side of the road.
"The bus driver escaped the accident with minor injuries.
"All 20 bus passengers did not sustain any injuries during the accident," he said in a statement yesterday.
He added that the case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules for failing to control a vehicle while driving till causing an accident.
