KUALA LUMPUR: The government has reduced the retail price of diesel by 5 sen to RM3.25 from RM3.30 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of RON97 remained at RM3.47 per litre, RON95 at RM2.05 per litre, and diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan at RM2.15 per litre for the period of Aug 15 to Aug 21.
The Finance Ministry said the reduction of the diesel price is due to the recent decline in the global crude oil prices.
"The government agrees to reduce the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia by 5 sen per litre to RM3.25 per litre, from 15 Aug 15, 2024 to Aug 21, 2024.
"The government will continue to monitor market developments and adjust the diesel fuel's retail price based on global oil market fluctuations, whilst supporting price stability," it said in a statement today.
