Nidza Afham laid to rest

KUALA SELANGOR: Muhammad Nidza Afham Mokhtar was laid to rest at the Felda Bukit Cherakah Muslim cemetery at 6.40pm today.

His body was taken to the Puncak Alam mosque for funeral prayers, attended by approximately 1,000 people, including family members, relatives and friends.

The prayers were led by Nidza Afham's cousin.

His father, Mokhtar Mahmood, 57, was also seen at the funeral prayers.

During the burial, Nidza Afham's 54-year-old mother, Irni Yusmira Istihat, sat by his grave, and had to console another family member.

Yesterday, the Fire and Rescue Department found the body of a man near the Sungai Klang bridge.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan later confirmed that the body was believed to be that of Nidza Afnam.

Earlier today, Hussein said the death of Nidza Afham has been classified as a sudden death pending results of a laboratory investigation.
