KUALA LUMPUR: "I'm still well, I'm not dead yet."
This was the reaction Tan Sri Abdul Halim Ali had, when asked about the rumours about his death, this morning.
Speaking to Berita Harian today, the former chief secretary to the government said he was exercising with his family at the Perdana Botanical Gardens, here.
"I was shocked to hear reports claiming that I had died, when I am still in good health. I am puzzled that such reports were made without verification, either from me or my close family members.
"I received many messages from friends asking about the validity of the news of my death.
"I hope the media can verify such information beforehand so that situations like this do not happen again," said Abdul Halim, who was also Foreign Ministry secretary-general.
Earlier in a statement, the Administrative and Diplomatic Officers Association Alumni secretariat said they had received numerous inquiries from yesterday until this morning regarding the news circulating on social media about the death of Abdul Halim, who is also the alumni president.
They confirmed that the news was false.
