ALOR STAR: A 10-minute thunderstorm left a trail of destruction in Sik district, leaving 32 uprooted trees and houses with their roofs blown away.
Sik Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Haisul Aishah Mohd Napiah said the heavy rainfall coupled with a fierce storm started hitting the district at 2.14pm.
"Two rescue teams were immediately deployed to the scene to help clear the uprooted trees' trunks from the affected areas.
"For now, no casualty or injury was reported from the distress calls that we received," she said in a statement.
Aishah urged the public to be extra cautious following a weather warning issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department that will last until tomorrow.
