RAWANG: A shootout occurred at Kampung Baru Kundang early this morning.
It was reported that a police team from the Criminal Investigation Department was involved in a confrontation with a group of armed suspects.
One man is believed to have been shot dead in the incident.
According to sources, the suspects fired shots at the police, prompting them to return fire.
Several suspects fled the scene following the incident.
At least two unmarked police cars were also damaged during the altercation.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the incident when contacted.
"We will either hold a press conference or issue a statement regarding the incident soon," he said.
