KUALA LUMPUR: A motorcycle ended up lodged in a tree after an accident that reportedly took place in Bemban, Melaka last week.
A viral video of the unusual incident, showing passersby checking on the injured rider, has garnered over 20,000 views and sparked mixed reactions online.
While details of the crash remain unclear, many social media users posted sarcastic and insensitive comments about the situation, which in turn led to heated debates in the comment sections.
Some defended the injured rider, urging others to be more considerate.
"We should be more considerate about other people's feelings, before mocking someone in that situation," the user wrote.
Another viewer wrote that he knew the rider and that the rider had sustained three broken ribs from the crash.
One more comment read : "Why do some people always laugh at someone else's misfortune? This isn't a joke. It could even happen to you next."
Efforts to get an official statement from the police are still ongoing.
