Flooding worsens in Kedah

ALOR STAR: Flooding in Kedah has worsened with 1,102 people from 353 families seeking shelter across 11 temporary relief centres (PPS) across the state as of 11pm last night.

Yesterday, it was reported that 856 people were staying at seven PPS as of 5.40pm.

Authorities had to open four more PPS following heavy rain in several districts.

All flood victims evacuated are in PPS in Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, and Kota Setar.

Most flood victims are in Pokok Sena (602 people), followed by Kubang Pasu (285 people) and Kota Setar (165 people).

Meanwhile, water in three rivers in the state has breached dangerous levels.

They include Sungai Padang Terap in Kubang Pasu, Sungai Anak Bukit (Taman Aman) and Sungai Anak Bukit (TAR bridge) in Kota Setar.
