KUALA LUMPUR: The new premises of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia (AMM) in Putrajaya will be a centre for activities related to medical specialty training.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad described this is an achievement by the medical fraternity. and also AMM, not only in Malaysia but in this region.
"Apart from the administrative centre, this campus will also house 13 colleges under AMM and the Malaysian Family Doctorate Academy which will also be a center for activities related to medical specialty training," he said. through a post on his Facebook page yesterday.
He said the premises also function as a training hub and housed the Academies Simulation and Education and Training Site (ASETS) which has advanced digital infrastructure capable of creating complex simulations, further supporting the training function of medical specialties.
"I am very proud because this facility will complement our efforts to elevate Malaysia's position as a centre of excellence and innovation on the world stage," he said.
He said the Ministry of Health welcomes the progress achieved by AMM and is always ready to work together to develop more medical and health professions in Malaysia.
The building in question replaces the old Medical Academy building in Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur which was taken over by the government in 2016.
