Kedah floods recede, 107 left in relief centres

ALOR STAR: Floodwaters in Kedah have largely receded, leaving only one temporary flood relief centre (PPS) open in the Kota Setar district.

According to the Social Welfare Department's disaster information application, 10 PPS across Baling, Pokok Sena and Kota Setar have been closed.

All flood victims who sought shelter there have gone home.

Currently, one PPS in Kota Setar is housing 107 people from 31 families.

However, the water levels of two rivers in the district, Sungai Anak Bukit and Sungai Kedah, remain at a dangerous level.

Kedah has been hit by floods in recent weeks, forcing thousands of people to evacuate to PPS throughout the state.
