DUNGUN: An air of sadness filled the air of the Dungun Hospital this morning as families of three Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) students killed in an accident last night arrived to claim their bodies.
Relatives of the deceased, Ku Adib Aizab Ku Azmi, 20, Khairil Anwar Jamaludin, 20, and Muhammad Akhmal Md Tukirin, 25, were seen crying and consoling each other at the hospital.
UiTM deputy vice-chancellor for student affairs Prof Sazili Shahibi and Terengganu UiTM rector Prof Mazidah Puteh were also at the hospital.
Last night's fatal accident saw an SUV crashing into the motorcycles the students were riding. Their friend Muhammad Ammar Danish Mohamad Ridhuan, 20, was also on one of the motorcycles.
The students were returning to their campus after supper nearby when the accident happened.
Ku Adib Aizab, Khairil Anwar and Muhammad Akhmal were killed on the spot, Muhammad Ammar was critically injured and is now being treated at the Dungun Hospital.
The bodies of the will now be brought to the mosque on the UiTM campus in Terengganu for prayers.
Ku Adib Aizab, Khairil Anwar, and Muhammad Akhmal will be taken to their respective hometowns in Sungai Buloh, Ampang, and Muar for burial.
The SUV driver, a 49-year-old woman has been arrested.
