Going, going, sold: 38 seized cars auctioned for RM151k

KOTA BARU: The Road Transport Department garnered RM151,100 from the auction of 38 vehicles at a public bidding event here yesterday.

Kelantan RTD director Mohd Misuari Abdullah said the auction featured various vehicle types and brands.

"These vehicles were forfeited due to various violations such as expired vehicle licences, lack of insurance coverage, unregistered vehicles and displaying improper registration plates," he said during a press conference following the public action, as reported by Sinar Harian.

The highest bid was for a Toyota bB automatic mini vehicle, which fetched RM35,000. The lowest bid involved a Modenas motorcycle which was sold for just RM50.

Mohd Misuari said 42 vehicles were auctioned, consisting of 24 registered vehicles and 18 scrap units.

"This marks the first auction of the year, which included 12 vehicles, generating RM119,100. However, three vehicles, including a Mercedes Benz with a starting price of RM6,500, received no bids."
