GUA MUSANG: An ambulance transporting a pregnant woman to Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital collided with a cow on Km30 of Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Krai early this morning.
However, the ambulance driver, a doctor and the patient, escaped unhurt.
District police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said the ambulance was heading for the hospital in Kuala Krai when the crash happened about 4am.
"The driver said a cow suddenly crossed the road. He tried to avoid it, but failed. The crash damaged the front of the ambulance, but all passengers were unharmed," he said in a statement.
He added that the pregnant woman was later brought to the hospital by another ambulance from Gua Musang Hospital.
Sik also warned cattle owners to keep their animals off the main road to prevent accidents.
"Motorists, especially those travelling at night, should exercise extra caution when using the route."
