BANDAR BAHARU: A temporary flood relief centre at SK Sungai Kechil Ulu, which housed 109 evacuees from 30 families affected by last Friday's high-tide flood, was closed today.

Bandar Baharu Civil Defence Force officer Lieutenant Abdul Rahim Khairudin said the centre was officially closed at midday, marking the state's full recovery from persistent flooding since September.

"All evacuees were allowed to return to their homes as the floodwaters receded and weather conditions improved.

"This was the last temporary relief centre to be closed in the state after the floods subsided today," he said.

On Saturday, it was reported that the high tide phenomenon in Kampung Besar, Bagak Samak, caused flash floods, affecting 25 families comprising 100 victims.
