Floods receding in Kedah, only 80 evacuees remain in Bandar Baharu

ALOR STAR: The number of flood evacuees has dwindled to just 80 as floodwaters begin to recede across the state.

According to the Kedah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, 80 evacuees only from 21 households remained at a single temporary relief centre (PPS) in Bandar Baharu up to 4pm today.

The 152 evacuees from two PPS in Baling and 108 evacuees from a PPS in Kota Setar, reported earlier, had all returned home earlier in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Drainage and Irrigation Department's Public Infobanjir website showed that the water level at Sungai Anak Bukit in Kota Setar was still above danger level, with water continuing to rise.
